Proximity chat, solo queue, enhanced visuals, and more detailed ahead of Marathon’s March 2026 launch

Bungie, the creators of Halo and Destiny, has premiered the “Vision of Marathon” ViDoc for its upcoming PvPvE survival extraction FPS, Marathon. In Marathon, players explore the lost colony of Tau Ceti IV as bio-cybernetic Runners, scavenging for resources while surviving against hostile security forces, rival Runners, and the planet’s unforgiving environments in a high-stakes fight for fortune and survival.

During the ViDoc, Bungie developers revealed multiple gameplay updates designed to deepen the tactical survival experience, increase immersion, and heighten danger throughout the world of Tau Ceti IV. These newly showcased features include proximity chat, solo queue options, and a new Rook shell with a limited loadout designed for scavenging during in-progress rounds. The team also highlighted improved survival systems, increased graphical fidelity, an updated user interface, and additional refinements still in development.
