TOKYOPOP Licenses Spanish Language Edition of Hit Manhua Series Heaven Official’s Blessing

Fantasy Romance Set in Ancient China Expands the TOKYOPOP Spanish Language Catalog
TOKYOPOP has officially announced the licensing of the Spanish edition of the acclaimed manhua series, HEAVEN OFFICIAL’S BLESSING, written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu and illustrated by STARember. Adapted from the bestselling Chinese “Danmei” (Boys’ Love) novel, the manhua blends fantasy, romance, and royal intrigue. Volume 1 of the Spanish edition is set to debut in Fall 2025.
A Tale of Godhood, Tragedy, and Destiny
Eight hundred years ago, Crown Prince Xie Lian ascended to godhood at the young age of seventeen, becoming the beloved of the heavens with countless followers. However, his noble actions in the mortal realm to save his former kingdom led to his downfall and eventual banishment. After enduring endless misfortunes, he came to be known as the “God of Misfortune.”
Centuries later, Xie Lian rises once more to godhood, but with no temples or worshipers to his name. Resigned to a humble life, he spends his days collecting scraps until he meets a mysterious young man named San Lang—who is revealed to be the charming and feared Ghost King Hua Cheng. As the two cross paths, their bond deepens, though Xie Lian remains unaware that Hua Cheng has been waiting for him for centuries.
Expanding Global Reach with Spanish-Language Releases
“The growth of Chinese manhua continues globally and also coincides with an expanding market in North America and beyond for content published in non-English languages such as Spanish,” says Lena Atanassova, TOKYOPOP Editor-in-Chief. “HEAVEN OFFICIAL’S BLESSING is a unique and noteworthy addition to our Spanish catalog and we are excited to support the continued evolution and localization of this stand-out series.”
