Lore

In 1971, scientists at the Norwegian University discovered an asteroid. Initially expected to pass Earth safely, miscalculations led to a catastrophic impact in the East China Sea. Massive earthquakes, tsunamis reaching 10 km high, and global devastation followed.

A dust-filled sky blocked sunlight, leading to the mass extinction of plants and animals. Earth’s climate drastically shifted, with the equator experiencing summer temperatures of -20°C by 1980.

By 1983, survivors attempted to establish settlements, leading to food shortages, disease outbreaks, and civil unrest. The last known major settlement collapsed in 1987. By 1989, Earth’s population was estimated between 7,000 and 12,000.

In 1996, a volcanic site on the Finland-Sweden border provided warmth for a small settlement, Saint Alice. As temperatures dropped, survivors constructed a massive mobile ship—Steinfish—to search for a new place to live.

Now, in 2007, it is time to begin our journey.
