Yen Press Announces Four New Acquisitions in Celebration of Anime NYC

In the lead-up to the Yen Press Industry Panel at Anime NYC, four new title announcements were made across Yen Press social media channels. The acquisitions span both the Yen Press and Yen Audio imprints, bringing two new audiobooks and two new manga series into the fold.

New Additions to Yen Audio

Two titles are joining the Yen Audio imprint — an audiobook adaptation of a beloved classic from acclaimed filmmaker Mamoru Hosoda, and an audiobook edition of a recently announced fantasy novel from the Yen On lineup.

Tokyo is a big city — big enough that it’s easy for a grieving boy like Ren to slip through the cracks. But Ren slips further than he bargained for, tumbling into the beast world of Jutengai. He ends up with a new name, Kyuta, and a new life learning the way of the sword as the apprentice of the bear Kumatetsu. Kumatetsu has problems of his own, though, and the boy and the beast may have more to learn from each other than they realize. But Ren’s arrival in the realm of the beasts has put both their worlds in danger, and they’re going to need more than life lessons to face what’s coming.

Hazen Heim is a newly appointed imperial military officer with the poor luck of having been born without a silver spoon in his mouth. Rather than landing a cushy post through nepotism, he’s sent to the front lines to deal with the worst of the worst — scumbag supervisors who steal credit, power-hungry leaders who abuse their authority, and bumbling brass who have never had to make a hard decision in their lives. Fortunately, Hazen spent decades accumulating knowledge and experience in his past life as a legendary mage. Now it’s his turn to put the tyrants in their place, and they’re going to learn that when they go low, he goes lower.

New Additions to Yen Press

Two manga series are joining the Yen Press imprint, bringing quirky fantasy and complicated romance to the lineup.
