Wildlight Entertainment Reveals Highguard at The Game Awards, Launching in January 2026

A new competitive shooter from the developers behind Apex Legends and Titanfall
During tonight’s The Game Awards, Wildlight Entertainment officially revealed Highguard, its debut free-to-play PvP raid shooter. In Highguard, players ride, fight, and raid as Wardens—arcane gunslingers sent to battle for control of a mythical continent.
Compete against rival Warden crews to seize control of the powerful Shieldbreaker, then launch a full-scale assault to breach and destroy the enemy base to secure victory. This bold new shooter launches on January 26, 2026, featuring full cross-play and cross-progression across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
“We’re a veteran team who’ve spent years together creating some of the biggest hits in gaming, including Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and Titanfall,” said Dusty Welch, Co-Founder and CEO of Wildlight Entertainment. “With our first game, we’re hyper-focused on creating a new gaming universe of similarly epic scale and quality.”
“We created Wildlight because we wanted a game studio where design leads and new games can be built without compromise,” added Chad Grenier, Co-Founder and Game Director at Wildlight Entertainment. “Our experience on Apex Legends and Titanfall shaped our understanding of what it takes to build and sustain a successful franchise.”

Founded in 2021, Wildlight Entertainment has been quietly developing Highguard for the past four years. The studio plans to reveal more details throughout January leading up to the game’s official launch on January 26.
