Awaysis, the physics-fueled co-op dungeon brawler from Kyoto-based developer 17-BIT, combines crisp combat and comic relief when it launches in Q2 2026 on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, as revealed today during Day of the Devs. Players can go hands-on with the first level in Awaysis’ debut demo, available now as part of the ID@Xbox Demo Fest until Sunday, February 22, 2026.

The Dark Lord of Darkness and his gaggle of Grimlins have cut off an entire planet’s water supply, transforming the Animal Tribes’ fertile soil into uninhabitable hardscape. Adventure solo or assemble a mangy crew of up to three additional misfits to investigate a life-threatening drainage clog and fight to end famine for an entire world.

Awaysis blends comedic mischief, physical humor, and arcade action into deep, chaotic combat, while hyper-responsive and precise controls keep players fully in command. Introduce enemies to your best friends—Physics and Gravity—by bopping foes off ledges and into environmental hazards with weighty, directional weapon swings. Dish out swift combos with lightweight swords or charge devastating haymakers with heavy axes in combat you can truly feel.

Dash and surf across hilly terrain to build momentum before launching off ramps into the air. Clear massive gaps, uncover hidden treasure in hard-to-reach locations, and unleash high-speed attacks against hulking brutes blocking your path.

A motley mix of creatures answers the call to save the world. Venture forth as Auro, the fearless fox from the surface world, and join forces with Cicero, a gullible yet loyal frog; Vernelle, a trash-talking turtle who speaks exclusively in rhyme; and Sperling, the newest recruit of an elite Sparrow special ops unit—despite having zero combat experience. A true dream team.

When it’s time to take a break from saving the world, challenge friends in competitive multiplayer modes. Test skill and strategy in free-for-all and 2v2 matches, including Deathmatch and King of the Hill. These modes are enhanced by a soundtrack from renowned game composer Hip Tanaka (Metroid, EarthBound, Super Smash Bros. Brawl), along with artwork by Satoshi Matsuura (Bravely Default, Mother 3, Legend of Mana) and Alexandre Diboine (Disney).

The Awaysis demo is available now on Xbox Series X|S with English language support. The full game launches in Q2 2026 on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 with support for English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Korean, Portuguese (Portugal), and Traditional and Simplified Chinese.
