Expansion adds a new Space map, more abilities for imposters to sabotage play, a chaotic “Old Maid” mode and more!

Small independent developer Waka Studio has launched a free Space-themed update for their multiplayer bluffing and deception party game Cut That Wire, available now on PC via Steam. In space, no one can hear you scream, but betrayal and treachery echo loudly!

Play

Cut That Wire’s latest update brings a variety of new features, including the brand-new “Old Maid” mode, which injects the classic card game’s tension into the chaos. Players can now dive into the new Space Map, complete with an unlockable air-lock that allows them to eject suspects into the void. Imposters gain even more disruptive power, including the ability to swap data with victims to confuse and mislead the entire party.

General updates and balancing changes include a minimum of 3 players per match, a convenient Quick Match option, and an expanded and rebalanced prompt dataset featuring fresh questions. Dead players now gain the ability to see one safe wire, and hosts can customize game rules such as imposter ability count and bomb countdown timers.

About Cut That Wire

In Cut That Wire, players are strapped to a bomb alongside three others, but one among them is secretly the imposter. Every ally could save you or doom you. Victims must work together to unmask the traitor, while the imposter bluffs, deceives, and manipulates to stay alive.

Each round ramps up the pressure with “Big Bluff” mini-games: draw based on prompts in Big Bluff Drawing, recall details in Big Bluff Picture, or swap cards in Big Bluff Deck. Meanwhile, the imposter scrambles to remain convincing while juggling mismatched information.

After each mini-game, players vote for who must cut a wire. That chosen player then flips a coin to determine whether they’re cutting their own wire or someone else’s. Only the Engineer knows the one safe choice, while the imposter steers the group toward disastrous decisions. With a bomb ticking down, every word, gesture, and accusation matters—survival hinges on instinct and deception.
