The League of Legends team today revealed new details about the upcoming international esports events for 2026, alongside the premiere of a new cinematic, “Twilight’s End.”
Record-Breaking Engagement at Worlds 2025
The Worlds 2025 Play-Ins made esports history when T1Invictus Gaming, becoming the most-watched Play-Ins match in Worlds history. With fan engagement reaching unprecedented levels, Riot Games is set to elevate the stakes in 2026.
First Stand Tournament – Brazil
The First Stand Tournament 2026 will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, at the Riot Games Arena from March 16–22. This year’s format introduces two Double-Elimination Groups leading into Single-Elimination Knockouts, with Best-of-Five matches featured throughout the entire event.
Mid-Season Invitational – Korea
The Mid-Season Invitational 2026 (MSI) will be hosted in Daejeon, Korea. A total of 11 teams from across the globe will compete. The Play-In Stage will determine one team to advance into the Bracket Stage via a double-elimination format, continuing the trend of exciting structural innovations in global competition.
World Championship – United States
The 2026 World Championship begins in Dallas, Texas, hosting the Play-Ins, Swiss Stage, Quarterfinals, and Semifinals. The Finals will conclude in New York City, promising an epic showdown in one of the world’s most iconic venues.
“Twilight’s End” Cinematic by Fortiche
All paths converge at the Temple of Twilight in the latest cinematic, “Twilight’s End”, developed in partnership with Fortiche, the award-winning French animation studio known for Arcane.
Set in a time of choice and consequence, the short explores a pivotal decision made by Zaahen centuries ago. Now, Xin Zhao must confront his destiny in a battle between duty and legacy.
This cinematic continues Riot’s tradition of immersive storytelling, blending lore and action in striking animation.
