Addressing Recent Player Feedback

Recently, the team has made a number of changes that didn’t hit the mark for everyone. In listening to players’ feedback, it’s clear that there are areas where adjustments are needed.

Hextech Chests Are Coming Back

Starting in Act 2, which is the patch next week, players will be able to earn up to ten Chests and Keys per Act.

  • Eight will be spread throughout the free Pass instead of the Seasonal skin and the 1350 or Lower Skin, in response to player feedback.
  • The other two will be earnable through the Honor system.
  • For transparency, Hextech Chests will be the exact same as those previously received through Champion Mastery.

Blue Essence Cost Reduction

The Blue Essence cost for all champions will be reduced by 50% as of the next patch.

This change should especially help newer players build out their champion roster, making the game more accessible and, in turn, helping League continue to thrive long-term.

Sahn Uzal Mordekaiser Skin Delay

The Sahn Uzal Mordekaiser skin is being delayed to ensure it better delivers on its core fantasy.

The team is also taking more time to improve all future Exalted skins, so players likely won’t see one in every Act this year as originally planned.

Mythic Essence on the Paid Seasonal Pass

One of the non-Prestige skins on the paid Seasonal Pass will be replaced with 25 Mythic Essence.

This change comes in response to players’ concerns about the lack of Mythic Essence on the paid Pass and the number of skins being made for each Seasonal theme.

For Act 2, the skins on the paid Pass will be:

  • Darius
  • Sion
  • Talon

Clash Returns to a Monthly Schedule

Clash will return to a monthly schedule, with:

  • ARURF as March’s Clash event
  • Summoner’s Rift as April’s Clash event

This change comes as a result of player feedback after the team announced in the last Dev Update that Clash would be run less often.

Your Shop & Blue Essence Emporium Return

Your Shop will return in Patch 25.6 and the Blue Essence Emporium will return in Patch 25.7.

Full details about these changes can be found in the accompanying blog post released.

Closing Message from the League Dev Team

“Now, as we wrap up, we want to acknowledge that we know getting League to the right place isn’t about just one set of changes. It’s about continually refining and improving the game. We think today’s updates are an important step, and we’ll keep tracking how these changes feel, talking with all of you about how things are landing, and making adjustments.

We’ve always built League along with all of you, the community. Thank you for sticking with us and hearing us out, and we look forward to continuing to work with you to make sure League is the best game it can be. Thanks so much, and we’ll see you on the Rift.”
