Free League Publishing and 20th Century Studios are proud to announce the upcoming launch of the ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game Evolved Edition on Kickstarter on March 25, 2025. Built upon feedback from thousands of players over five years, the Evolved Edition delivers an updated and streamlined version of the ALIEN RPG fans know and love.
With new artwork, additional content, and a variety of new tools for players and Game Masters alike, this edition is fully compatible with previous releases. Evolved Edition highlights include:
New Features
- New Core Rulebook: Redesigned with fresh page layouts by Johan Nohr (of MÖRK BORG fame), stunning new interior maps, and a new cover art by renowned artist Colm Geoghegan.
- Revised Rules: Expanded and refined rules for talents, stress, panic, and stealth to enhance gameplay.
- Combat Overhaul: Updated rules for armor, ammo, grenades, stuns, skirmishes, and spaceships, making each encounter more dynamic.
- New Weapons and Locations: Introduces iconic weapons, items, ships, and locations from the hit film Alien: Romulus.
- Zero Gravity and Miniatures Support: New tools in high demand by players, including zero-gravity mechanics and support for miniatures play.
- Last Survivor: A new solo mode designed by masters of solo roleplaying, Shawn Tomkin and Matt Click, allowing players to experience the horror of being the last survivor in space.
Starter Set and Cinematic Scenario Set
Redesigned for newcomers to the ALIEN universe, the Evolved Edition Starter Set contains everything players need for their first adventure, including:

The Rapture Protocol cinematic adventure set returns to the roots of the ALIEN franchise, featuring the crew of a small star freighter who become embroiled in a deadly conflict on a remote industrial colony.

Miniatures and Virtual Tabletop Support
A new Miniatures Set will also be released, featuring 28mm scale, high-quality miniatures of soldiers, space truckers, Xenomorphs, and more, designed to bring the events of Rapture Protocol to life. Additionally, new Evolved content will be available for play on popular Virtual Tabletop platforms, including Alchemy, Foundry, Roll20, and Demiplane.
